The Springfield Police Division has launched Operation Street Watch to establish the Neighborhood Crime Watcher Program (NCWP). Coordinated through the Community Response Team (based out of the Springfield Police Department's Substation at 17 W. Johnny Lytle Avenue), this program was developed to assist the citizens of Springfield in forming Crime Watches in their neighborhoods. There is no greater deterrent to crime than vigilant citizens who take an active part in the protection of their homes, neighborhoods, and fellow citizens. Our aim is to form strong police-citizen partnerships that will lead to safer streets and a stronger community.
