The Springfield Metropolitan Housing Authority and the Springfield Police Division have a contract which allows for 40 hours per week of police services, equipment and supervision to be provided to the Housing Authority. These hours are primarily during the evening. The officer(s) assigned to this program work on any number of issues, as they relate to Housing property. All Metro Officers are sworn police officers of the Division and have full authority to enforce city, state, and federal laws both on and off Metropolitan Housing property.
