The City of Springfield's procurement functions are centralized, with all formal purchases (over $25,000) and informal purchases (under $25,000) being handled by the Purchasing Division. The division implemented the purchasing card in 1998 for small purchases under $1,000. The purchasing card is also utilized for travel and emergency items over $1,000. The Purchasing Division also handles contract compliance.
Other than posting procurement activities on this web site, we advertise formal bids and request for proposals in the Springfield News-Sun on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. In addition, we send construction project information to Dodge Reports, Builders Exchange, and Minority Business Center in Dayton, Ohio.
