Casey, Australia The City of Casey is the fastest-growing municipality in the State of Victoria and the third fastest growing in Australia. The city’s population in March 1999 was 165,000. In 2009, it was 247,357. A population base of 349,950 is forecasted for 2031.

One of Melbourne's southeastern suburbs, the City of Casey is a rapidly developing residential area with large areas of land still allocated for urban development and surrounding rural areas. The City of Casey encompasses a total land area of about 400 square kilometers. Rural land is used mainly for grazing, horse stabling, market gardening, flower growing, and open space/parklands.

Casey is named after Lord Richard Gardiner Casey, Foreign Minister and 16th Governor General of Australia.
