Be Fire Safe

With just a few steps you can have a fire safe home.

  • Fire Escape Plan
    • Gather the family and plan out how everyone would exit if there was a fire.
    • Consider different situations like daytime and nighttime exit plans.
  • Smoke Detectors
    • Install detectors on every level of the home, outside sleeping areas, and inside bedrooms.
    • Replace batteries - Daylight Savings (March and November) is a good time.
  • Prevent Home Fires
    • Keep matches and lighters out of the reach of young children.
    • Exercise caution when using candles. Do not leave candles unattended or lit while sleeping.
    • Use an ash tray when smoking and never smoke in bed.
