Springfield Symphony Orchestra

The Springfield Symphony Orchestra is the cultural pride of the area and one of Springfield's greatest assets. First Mayor

History

Springfield was incorporated as a city March 21, 1850. J. M. Hunt was the first mayor of Springfield. He presided at the first meeting of the city council held May 18, 1850. Mr. Hunt served as mayor through 1853. More...»


Farmer's Market

Each Saturday during the summer season a Farmer's Market is held between the Heritage Center and Elderly United in downtown Springfield. The Farmer's Market has 30 or more vendors offering local produce, baked goods and jams, flowers, handcrafts and other local items from Clark and neighboring counties in a fun festive atmosphere featuring local musicians.
